A month after IAS officer Kannan Gopinathan resigned citing the reason that he felt situations were unbecoming of a democratic country, another 2009 batch Karnataka cadre S.Sasikanth Senthil has tendered his resignation on almost grounds.
Senthil has stated that it was unethical to continue with the job profile as democracy was being compromised, he did not mention or point to any specific direction though. Senthil also said, “I would be better off outside the IAS to continue with my work at making life better for all. It simply cannot be business as usual anymore.”
This is not every day that an IAS officer resigns and this is definitely stirring things in the political arena as well and surely people are wondering why would one leave nation's most coveted Service.
