On Monday Shatabdi Express from Howrah to New Jalpaiguri passengers traveling in a coach said they ran into swarms of cockroaches that kept moving across the coach since sunset.
Passengers said some of the insects fell on the food served during the journey.
Some travelers arrive at Malda town station where train reached after that in the evening they filed written complaints. Some of the Passengers tried to connect with senior railway officials and called up the toll-free telephone number which is provided by the railways.
Subrata Das and Shubhankar Pal, traveling to Malda from Howrah in the C-2 coach, accused railway authorities of paying no heed to pest control and questioned the quality of food served on board.
